Dear Parents and Guardians:
In November, we asked parents and guardians to complete a survey to let us know which instructional model (face-to-face learning or Online Learning Academy) you want for your child in second semester.
The survey results showed many families want to transition from the Online Learning Academy to face-to-face instruction. This unprecedented movement drastically impacts our staffing, scheduling, transportation and more.
Currently, schools are reassigning students based on their second semester preference, redesigning the master schedule and revising teacher assignments.
Some elementary and middle school students may get a new teacher for the second semester, though we are working hard to keep your child with their current teacher. These staffing shifts mostly impact students in the Online Learning Academy or those who asked to shift from the Online Learning Academy to face-to-face instruction.
Schools will communicate with families impacted by these changes on or before Jan. 8. However, schools have already contacted the families of elementary students who are remaining in their first-semester instructional model and will still have a teacher change.
Here are some important dates for secondary students to know as we move forward.
Face-to-face middle school students will receive their second semester schedule at school on Thursday, Dec. 17. The following day, Dec. 18, middle schools will mail the schedules to Online Learning Academy students.
At the high school level, the schools will mail the schedules to face-to-face and Online Learning Academy students on Friday, Dec. 18.
